Lycopene is a phytochemical and a member of the carotenoid family. Lycopene, one of the most prominent carotenoids found in nature, has shown remarkable results in clinical trials investigating the degenerative effects of the free radical “singlet oxygen”. Lycopene is a potent antioxidant in quenching free radicals extracted from GMO-free tomatoes by Lyc-O-Mato.Antioxidant status is influenced by a variety of factors, including dietary intake, stress, daily activities and health conditions. People who tend to have low antioxidant status are smokers, dieters or people who eat few fruits and vegetables, the elderly, persons that exercise regularly, those who spend considerable time outdoors, or persons with compromised health. Supplementing carotenoids is indicated for these people.
