Olympian Labs Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is found in Quezon Province located in the Phillipines. Our coconut oil contains only the natural taste of coconuts without the added synthetic smell often associated with coconut oil products. Olympian Labs
Organic Virgin coconut oil does not contain any artificial or synthetic fragrances or coloring and is completely safe to ingest. Olympian Labs uses 100% mechanically pressed and naturally refined, Organic Virgin coconut oil (Cocos nucifera). Our coconut oil is 100% Vegetarian, Non-GMO, unbleached and does not contain any oils. It is loaded with super fatty acids (lauric, capric and caprylic), which may have strong microbial properties. Coconut oil contains Medium Chain Fatty Acids, which get converted to energy through the body’s natural metabolism.
A ~Virgin~ coconut oil can be achieved only by using fresh coconut meat (non-copra). Non-Copra methods of extracting ~Virgin~ coconut oil from the coconuts are through one of two methods. The first method is by quick drying. Quick drying is achieved by using minimal heat to quick dry the coconut and then the oil is mechanically pressed. The other method is through wet-milling. First the coconut is pressed, then the oil is separated from the water either by boiling, fermentation or refrigeration. The other type of coconut used is called Copra. Copra is the dried kernels or meat of a coconut that doesn’t produce a ~Virgin~ coconut oil. The Copra is dried by kiln, sun, smoke or a combination of the three drying methods. When the sun dries the Copra, it is exposed to unsanitary conditions such as insects and moulds. This method is not good for consumption because it must be purified (refined) by means of high heat and chemicals. When a product is Refined, Bleached or Deodorized (RBD) the product is then partially or fully hydrogenated. Hydrogenated oils have been shown to increase cholesterol levels.
Olympian Labs uses the non-copra coconut with the quick drying method. The coconut’s fresh kernel (meat) is quick dried with minimal heat, mechanically pressed into natural oil and then sent to Canada for purification by sedimentation.
Sedimentation is a purification process that occurs by separating the heaviest layers of coconut oil for maximum quality. This process takes place in a certified organic lab. We researched extensively to provide you with Virgin Coconut Oil that has triple certification. The planting process of our coconuts, the actual coconuts, and the processing plant are all certified organic!
Three certifications are very important to ensure that you are receiving the highest quality Coconut Oil available. The certification of the coconut itself is important due to intercropping that may occur during farming. Intercropping is when the farmers grow crops below the coconut palm trees. It is these crops that require pesticides, which expose the coconuts to harmful toxins. Olympian Labs does not use any pesticides and we buy our material from farmlands that do not use methods of intercropping.
*Please note any company selling ~Extra~ Virgin Coconut Oil is only claiming ~Extra~ as a marketing tool because there are no other methods to expel coconut oil as there are in the olive oil industry, besides the three ways listed above.
